Dr. Mary F. Schneider’s professional work has focused on the developmental and treatment needs of children and families.  Prior to joining the faculty of the Adler School of Professional Psychology, Mary Frances was a full Professor in the Foster G. McGaw Graduate School at National‑Louis University in Evanston, Illinois.  Mary Frances first developed her interest in Adlerian Psychology under the mentorship of Dr. Manford Sonstegard a pioneer in the development of family education centers and deepened her Adlerian training under the brilliant practice and scholarship of Dr. Harold Mosak.   Mary Frances married a generative Adlerian, Seymour Schneider.  Sy and Mary Frances proceeded to debate Adlerian ideas day and night enjoying the world through this shared lens and growing two fine sons under the umbrella of Adlerian philosophy.  Mary Frances broaden her training in family therapy at the Family Institute at Northwestern integrating Adlerian family therapy with modern and post modern forms of family therapy.  Mary Frances currently teaches courses on Adlerian individual and family therapy at the Adler School of Professional Psychology.  Mary Frances’ research interests focus on family violence and the use of the journal in the process of change.
